I would like to invite you to join me on a 40 day journey to finding life purpose.
If your like me then you’ve been thinking there has to be more to life than just wake up, feed the family, take care of the kids, go to work, come home, have dinner, go to sleep , wake up and do it all over again. Doing this day in and day out, though for some may be fulfilling, for most of us it’s a feeling of being trapped in the matrix and your desiring more to life. I’m looking for more out of life as well. I have always had a desire to help people in some sort of way, but I’ve never been sure just how I would do it. What can I do to make my mark on the world and make a difference in someone’s life?
Being trapped in the matrix of the same monotonous schedule however can make one feel as though finding life purpose is impossible or like there is none. We must not think this way. All things are possible if you just believe. Yes, I know its cliché, but it is definitely true. We have all tried to define our own purpose in life by doing whatever it is that we desire and when we want to. Not quite stopping to wonder or question if this is our true purpose in life, but then we get angry, upset, and mad when what we’re doing doesn’t seem to be working out for us. We get discouraged and give up to every obstacle because what we’ve decided as our own life’s purpose isn’t getting us to our dreams and goals.
What if we could find our life purpose and not get discouraged when we come against an obstacle because we know that we are at the right place at the right time doing what we aren’t meant to do. We’re serving our purpose in life and it is easily getting us to our dreams and goals. Well that’s what this 40 day journey is all about. To help us through our journey we will read Rick Warren’s The Purpose-Driven Life. Click Here to get it now.
I am driven and dedicated to the concept of “Start Your Dreams Today”. Why delay? If you want and desire something out of life the best way to obtain it is to start going after it today, now. That includes finding life purpose. So, with that said Day 1 of our 40 day journey starts today. Please feel free to join in as soon as you read this and get the book.
Finding Life Purpose today is just a few clicks and pages away.
On this journey I will be sharing with you my personal journal sharing my thoughts and answers from the “Thinking About My Purpose” section of each chapter. I look forward to engaging with you in the different discussions to come over the next 40 days. With that said lets begin.
Day 1 – It All Starts with God
“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” Bertrand Russell, atheist – The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren
Point to Ponder: It’s not about me.
Verse to Remember: “Everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him.” Colossians 1:16b (Msg)
Question to Consider: In spite of all the advertising around me, how can I remind myself that life is really about living for God and not myself?
Advertisements are words, pictures, and sounds asking us to buy something, persuading us to buy something. To remind me that life is about living for God and not myself I have to ask with each product or opportunity how this will help me to serve my purpose better.
It’s not about me.
In this first day journey of finding life purpose the point to ponder "Its not About Me" stirs deep within me. I am in and have been in some situations where I know I have been led to do something, but I have allowed my fear to hold me back because it will take me out of my comfort zone. I am a very introverted person, always keeping to myself.
On the AIG Training Center Login Page we have a quote: “The best way to accomplish something is to just do it, and then find the courage afterward.” -George Chapman
I have been staring at this quote for the past three weeks and still have yet to put it into action until today. Why? Because I have allowed fear and other people’s thoughts of me to stop me from doing what I know I have been led to do. But the point is, Its Not About Me. Someone needs this information. Someone is looking for this. Someone needs to go on this journey with us. They’re looking for change, an opportunity, a way to escape the matrix and monotony of living for self. This post is me putting this quote into action and coming to the understanding that what I have to share is not about me. To be honest, it’s about you and whoever you can/need to share this with.
Start Your Dreams Today,
Denora B
