3 Quick Steps to Overcoming Fear In Your Business (After Earth Trailer Bonus)

Fear and Business Do Not Mesh: Get Over Your Fear Today

Today I have a special bonus video for you today because I absolutely love this trailer and you will see why soon. I will definitely be going to see this movie when it comes out on May 31, 2013. Maybe I'll do a review and trust me I'll definitely aware you first hand if there are any spoilers. So before I continue today's post there will be a trailer spoiler. So if you haven’t seen the After Earth trailer and don’t want me to spoil it for you then please scroll down and watch it below now.

I absolutely love this quote from the trailer:

“[…] But if we are going to survive this, you must realize that fear is not real. It is a product of thoughts you create. Do not misunderstand me. Danger is very real, but fear is a choice.” – After Earth Trailer

I was so excited when I first saw this trailer and honestly I’m still excited about this movie and especially that statement. It is completely in alignment with everything that I have been studying and my new mindset as an entrepreneur. It also inspired me to write this blog post, because there are some who fear starting their own business. They’re saying, “Oh I want to start my own business so much, but what if I fail.” That second part of that sentence is fear speaking. Here are three quick steps to overcome that fear.

Always keep in mind that Fear and Business do not mesh.

Step 1: Block out all negativity and replace it with gratitude. As it was said in the trailer (but I’m paraphrasing) fear is a product of thoughts you create. If you’re constantly feeding yourself thoughts “what if I fail” then naturally you will create that fear of failing. What if we replace those negative thoughts with those of gratitude? Now we’re constantly thinking, “I’m thankful for my successful business.” What do you think that would do for your business that you wish to start/have? You will create your success and feelings of success instead of fear. Remember that you have complete control over the thoughts you choose to think and negate the negative.

Step 2: Because Fear and Business do not get along you must also write down all the reasons why you supposedly can’t start your own business and then scratch them all out. Rip up the piece paper and even burn it if you like. Then scream out loud at the top of your lungs, “I WILL START MY BUSINESS TODAY!!!!!” Okay, so your neighbors may think you’re a maniac, but who cares. You’re starting your business; you’re overcoming your fear and getting rid of all the things that you think are stopping you. This is your dream and the sooner you realize that you have the power to get through all obstacles the sooner they will be realized.

Step 3: START YOUR BUSINESS TODAY!!!! Make no excuse, don’t say yeah that sounds good and all BUT. Get rid of your buts. You have to start today and I don’t just mean with a plan. I mean start with action. Call that person you’ve been meaning to call. Click that link to the business opportunity you’ve been looking at online and don’t be afraid to receive email about something you’ve wanted to do for years. Remember fear is a choice, if you’re scared to ask for more information about a business or starting a business then you might as well give up your dreams and be normal.

Fear and business do not mix; get over your fear TODAY!!

Hidden Blessings in Finding Your Purpose In Life: Day 5 of The Purpose Driven Life By Rick Warren

“How you define life determines your destiny. Your perspective will influence how you invest your time, spend your money, use your talents, and value your relationships.” - The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren

This is an eye opener because it makes me believe that the way I’ve been viewing life has been hindering me from growing. I had always been the type of person to view life as “Everything happens for a reason”. Instead of generalizing life I need to try to see life through God’s eyes which I have to be honest is really hard for me to fathom. I can only rely on what the bible says, what I’m taught as I learn more, and what I feel in my heart.

In The Purpose Driven Life By Rick Warren it says, “The Bible offers three metaphors that teach us God’s view of life: Life is a test, life is a trust, and life is a temporary assignment.”

Thinking About My Purpose

Point to Ponder: Life is a test and a trust.

Verse to Remember: “Unless you are faithful in small matters, you won’t be faithful in large ones.” Luke 16:10a (NLT)

Question to Consider: What has happened to me recently that I now realize was a test from God? What are the greatest matters God has entrusted to me?

Everyday we are tested and trusted. Today I was tested and entrusted with an opportunity to go on a job interview... In the beginning of me starting to work with TAIG/EN I was a wussy and not giving my all. I gave up for one full week in working the business because I had some crazy notion that I couldn’t succeed in this business without funds to invest into it. So I started searching and applying for jobs. My mindset was not completely prepared to take on this new challenge of having faith and believing that I could succeed in this business. Although I was having some setbacks mentally, my mindset was changing, which is why I believe that these upcoming job interviews have manifested. But I digress, this morning I was tested to see how much I wanted this opportunity. Was I willing to do whatever it takes to be available for the interview? Yes, I was. I called everyone I knew and trusted with my daughter to babysit so that I can go to the job interview tomorrow. I believe that God is testing me to see am I ready for what he is about to do in my life. God wants to know that when he calls and opportunity knocks I will answer. He wants to be sure that I wont be a wussy and give up because things get challenging and I have to do some things that make me uncomfortable.

I learned a lot about myself today. I have a lot of pride and we all know that pride cometh before a fall. So I had to chuck up my pride and ask for help because I can’t do everything by myself. We have to know when to ask for help and kick that pride to the curb. (That was completely off topic, but for someone.) I also learned that as long as I take action expecting my desired result in return it will manifest itself (what’s your mindset?).

What have you been tested and entrusted with in finding your purpose in life?

Yesterday I was tested and entrusted with money. Yes, I’m talking about money and this is going to scare someone away because they fear money and truly need to reassess their relationship with it. However, for mother’s day I was blessed with monetary funds and I spent at least 85% of Sunday trying to figure out what I would spend my funds on and even researching some of the things I wanted to buy. In my spirit I kept getting urges to make sure that I put my tithes and offering to the side because it is not mine.
</br
No thing on this earth is yours or mine we have been entrusted with these items and must take great care of them. One of the greatest matters I feel that God has entrusted me with is his/my daughter. So I am making sure that I am and can provide for her ALL her hearts desires so that she can live life and live it abundantly. Which I know and have known is apart of my purpose in life. In order to do these things I have to make sure that I am ready when the phone rings and there's a knock at the door. I also have to make sure I do what  is asked of me when I am entrusted with anything. I leave you with these questions and I hope to chat with you later about them. Are you answering the door when opportunity knocks? What is your relationship with money and are you giving?

Are you finding your purpose in life and fulfilling it?

P.S. Earlier I spoke on mindset which reminded me of what I read in The Purpose Driven Life By Rick Warren Earlier –

“The Bible says, ‘Do not conform yourselves to the standards of this world, but let God transform you inwardly by a complete change of your mind. Then you will be able to know the will of God.’”

It’s important not to conform yourself to the standards of this world because when you do, you miss out on your blessings, your transformations, and your heart’s desires that you’ve been searching and reaching for so diligently. If I had been listening to what the world was saying about Empower Network I would not be here sowing this seed into your life right now. I would not be transforming and receiving blessings left and right or finding my purpose in life. I can tell you now that I have never worked with a company or a team of people who encourage and challenge you in finding your purpose in life and then tell you to live it and to always be honest. This is unheard of in today’s society and in this industry. For that person who’s been looking for an honest work at home business opportunity click here, put in your best email, and get started today in finding your purpose in life.

9 Leadership Traits of Successful Entrepreneurs

Learn the Common Characteristics ALL Successful Entrepreneurs Have

Very few people know their own leadership style — or strengths and weaknesses, for that matter. But that's a mistake.
From leading a company to hiring workers, you necessarily must know what you're good at and what, if anything, you need help with to properly meet your company's goals. I'd argue that your leadership-development efforts may be more valuable for achieving startup success than building business skills.
But, of course, leadership skills aren't always innate. So for new entrepreneurs, especially, expect to put in a fair amount of work. To assess where you are, and to unlock your full potential, there are many courses available, as well as seminars and gurus. But a good place to start is a book on the subject, like the new one from John Mattone, Intelligent Leadership.
Mattone has a wealth of insights, based on years of helping Fortune 500 leaders overcome their self-imposed limiting leadership habits. He identifies and distinguishes between nine distinct leadership traits that I see in all entrepreneurs, to some degree. The most effective entrepreneurs know their own dominant traits and how to build a team that has what she isn't good at covered.
Here's what to look for in yourself and the people you bring into your company:
1. Helpers. Mature helpers are considerate and genuinely the most sensitive and caring of all the leadership types. They are excellent mentors and coaches, but have a strong need to be admired and respected in return. Strengthen this trait by being more conscious of your need to be liked, and don't be possessive or controlling.
2. Entertainers. Entertainers gain the respect of others with drive, determination, hard work and the ability to win people over. But they can become fixated with appearing successful, showing more style than substance, or undermine themselves by exaggeration, inflating their importance, or trying to win or one-up all the time.
3. Artists. Artists are perhaps the most creative and innovative leaders. They tend to move people deeply, and bring out the most in people. As they become more mature, they draw less inspiration from themselves and more from others. Improve your artist side by avoiding negativity, procrastination and focus on self-discipline

Second Careers Are New Horizon For Vibrant Staten Island Baby Boomers

Vibrant Baby Boomers Take On New Challenges and Start Second Careers

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -After holding leadership positions at various independent schools for more than 35 years, Diane Hulse retired as head of school at Staten Island Academy in 2012

19boomer.jpgFrom Top left Clockwise: Diane Hulse retired as head of Staten Island Academy in 2012 and launched a consulting business, Hulse Leadership Development. John Amodio retired in February from TD bank after 25 years in the banking industry. He now works part-time for SCORE. Sallyann Bartels retired from National Grid in 2011 after 35 years, and is now the membership coordinator for the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce. Dean L. Balsamini, director of The Small Business Development Center (SBDC), formerly worked at AT&T for 35 years.Staten Island Advance photos

But at age 63, Ms. Hulse wasn't quite ready for a retirement lifestyle sitting by a pool in an active adult community. Instead, she wanted a new challenge, so she tapped the strengths from her former career in education, went back to college for a second master's degree in organizational dynamics and launched a consulting business, Hulse Leadership Development.

She is one of a growing number of baby boomers who have chosen to have "encore careers."

"There are a million of us baby boomers who aren't ready to sit on the porch. We're not ready to completely eliminate work, but we want a different experience," said Ms. Hulse, who coaches leaders at various organizations, including Project Hospitality and Community Health Center of Richmond.

"Baby boomers today are a healthier generation. We are going to live longer. We also have more opportunities today. My parent's generation was isolated; they didn't have access to the world news and the technology we have today," she added.

A GROWING TREND

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of people continuing to work past retirement age is growing. Labor force participation for New York City residents age 65 and over in 2009 was 14.7 percent. By 2012 it had risen to 15.5 percent, said Martin Kohli, chief regional economist for the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Nationally, the employment rates for people age 65 and older were 17.2 percent and 18.5 percent respectively in 2009 and 2012, he said.

Baby boomers say there are various reasons, including the desire to stay active, for launching a new career after completing an already successful one.

"I know from my experience that having my brain active is essential to my emotional health," said Ms. Hulse, a former Staten Islander now living in Manhattan.

OTHER MOTIVATION

In addition, many baby boomers launch encore careers in an effort to maintain their income level and lifestyle.

"I stayed home for four months, and said, 'this is not me.' I need to talk to people and I could become a shopaholic. So there was no money coming in other than my pension and I found myself always shopping," said Sallyann Bartels, 61, who retired from National Grid in 2011 after 35 years
More at Second careers are new horizon for vibrant Staten Island baby boomers.

This is truly motivational to see retirees creating new dreams and goals and going after them. It makes you stop and wonder what's stoping you from creating and going after your dreams?

Day 4 of Finding Your Purpose: Made To Last Forever

“This life is not all there is.” Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren

If you’ve accepted the realization that this life is not all there is, then you know you must give up your ego. This is what your ego doesn’t want you to know. In order to have a successful purpose driven life, you must have a servant’s heart which requires you to give up your ego. Keeping your ego in check and leading your life with a servant’s heart will prepare you for what is to come later. Day 4 in Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren is essentially about living this life in preparation for eternity. Who do you believe yourself to be forever? What are you doing to be that person? Are you finding your purpose and fulfilling it?

“Measured against eternity, our time on earth is just a blink of an eye, but the consequences of it will last forever.” Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren

Finding your purpose will ensure that your time on earth is used well.

Thinking About My Purpose
Point to Ponder: There is more to life than just here and now.

Verse to Remember: “This world is fading away, along with everything it craves. But if you do the will of God, you will live forever.” 1 John 2:17 (NLT)

Question to Consider: Since I was made to last forever, what is the one thing I should stop doing and the one thing I should start doing today?

I’ve actually pondered the point in the first paragraph of this finding your purpose blog post. :D Since I was made to last forever one thing I should stop doing is feeding my body and spirit crap. Since I am to prepare for forever I have to learn how to treat not only my body with respect, but also my spirit. What are you feeding your spirit? Fear? Joy? Faith? Hope? Anything? The one thing I should start doing today is consistently everyday speak and think positivity and life. Well what do you mean? There is a lot of power in your words and thoughts. It is extremely important to guard your thoughts and watch what you say.

These thoughts and words can be the creation or hindrance in finding your purpose and successfully obtaining your heart’s desires.

Stop Procrastinating and Find Your Purpose In Life: Day 3 of Finding Life Purpose

Find Your Purpose In Life

Find Your Purpose In Life: Day 3 What Drives Your Life?

“Purpose-Driven Living Leads to a simpler and saner schedule.” Purpose-Driven Life by Rick Warren

Today was a very powerful lesson in reflecting on the above sentence in Day 3. I now see why I was led to team AIG and Empower Network. With team AIG and Empower Network they’ve been teaching me to get and stay focused and how to serve my purpose by only working 2-3 hours a day. Since, I've been in this business they've also reiterated that if you don't know what your purpose is that you need to find your purpose in life because this business is about much more than making money. The empower network concept of work is so simple, that at first I didn’t believe that it could be that easy. I was doing everything and anything to make it harder, but since I’ve let go and just focus with purpose I’ve had a saner schedule.

There were so many things I wanted to do in a day and it just seemed as though I would never get them done. I was allowing myself to be driven by the pressures of what I wanted to get done. Which I feel also explains why I always felt so much turmoil when I tried to do several things at once and never got one task completed. But, since I’ve put everything else down and have started to focus and be driven by purpose. I’ve been getting everything done and I’m seeing results in my business and in my home because I’m spending more time with my family and living my purpose. It truly is amazing what happens when you start to find your purpose in life!

Today’s lesson was about what drives you. I would go into a recap about all the options aside from purpose that are out there that people are driven by, but that would be a disservice to you. You have to get this book if you’re looking to find your purpose in life. The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren click here to get it now.

Thinking About My Purpose

Point to Ponder: Living on purpose is the path to peace.

Verse to Remember: “You, LORD, give perfect peace to those who keep their purpose firm and put their trust in you.” Isaiah 26:3 (TEV)

Question to Consider: What would my family and friends say is the driving force of my life? What do I want it to be?

Living on purpose is the path to peace. (Clapping) Enough Said. I have felt so much more peace within the past week once I decided that I would live with purpose. I am doing what I am called to do and I’m going to share some very personal information with you. I had been running away from my purpose since I was 14. I thought that living my purpose would require me to give up the ways of the world and require me to think outside the box and be different. I didn’t want to give it up. I thought I was going to be missing something not knowing that I was missing much more by not living my purpose. You don’t have to struggle or stress anymore once on your on the path to find your purpose in life.

Start to find your purpose in life TODAY!

I’m not quite sure why I shared that information, but it’s what I’ve been led to write. It’s for someone reading this right now, today.

What would my family and friends say is the driving force of my life? To be honest I’m really not sure what my family would say is my driving force. :/ As for my friends I would say they believe my driving force is my family because of how much I speak of them and do for them. What do I want it to be? I want my driving force to be my purpose. What do I mean? Well, I know that my purpose has a lot to do with helping others with my gifts and I desire that to be my purpose in life. What's your purpose in life? Leave a comment below and lets discuss today's "Thinking About My Purpose".

Finding Life Purpose? The Sooner You Know The Better Day 2

Finding Life Purpose Day 2 - You are not an accident!

Every individual on this earth is not an accident. We are here for a reason and should be on the road to finding life purpose if we do not already know what our purpose may be. “[…]for nothing in your life is arbitrary. It’s all for purpose.” This is Day 2’s journal of The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren if you don’t have it go get it now click here now. Today we will be digging deep.

Thinking About My Purpose

Point to Ponder: I am not an accident.

Verse to Remember : “I am your Creator. You were in my care even before you were born.” Isaiah 44:2 (CEV)

Question to Consider: I know that God uniquely created me. What areas of my personality, background, and physical appearance am I struggling to accept?

Where to begin? Finding Life Purpose. I am not an accident. I am fully accepting of this and this point to ponder drives home the reason why I am on this journey to finding life purpose. Because I am not an accident there is a reason I am here and from yesterday we learned that its not about us. I am sharing my innermost thoughts with the world right now because finding life purpose is much bigger than me. God uniquely created me and I honestly am struggling to accept some aspects of my physical appearance, personality, and background.

My background: I grew up without my mom which led me to some situations I’m not particularly proud of. Although I know my father did his best being a widower, I still yearned for something more and because I didn’t have a mom I thought I was lacking love. So I tried to get what I thought was love anyway I could. This led me down some wrong paths. Inspite of that I know that these lines in Russell Kelfer’s poem validate my new acceptance of my background:

“[…]No, that trauma you faced was not easy And God wept that it hurt you so; But it was allowed to shape your heart So that into his likeness you’d grow. You are who you are for a reason[…]”

Shortly after I turned on the wrong paths of life my cousin reached out to me and saved me by reintroducing me to God.

My cousin was finding life purpose and was trying to share it with me.

Had I not gone through my trials and pains I may not have been as receiving. The relationship that I now have with my cousin may not be as strong as it is today.

My personality: I’ve stated before that I am a very introverted person and this is one trait that I struggle to accept, because I do like to socialize and I like being by myself as well. They contradict and this annoys me so much. However, I know God has uniquely created me to be social so that I can share my purpose. As well as introverted so that I can focus on building myself to be better and spend time in meditation to seek him.

My physical appearance: Don’t get me wrong I feel that I am very pretty, however there are certain aspects of my appearance that I struggle with. For the past 4 to 5 years I have wanted to do youtube videos. However, my fears of what others will say about my flaws have stopped me. (Post on getting over fear coming soon) Over the years I have convinced myself into believing that I was embracing my flaws and that I didn’t really care, but I did and caring what others think is a big hindrance to anyone. We have a purpose and other's thoughts should never matter when we have a gift, testimony, story, opportunity, or anything beneficial to others to share. God is waiting to bless us for doing what we’ve been called to do.
